From Doodles to Dollars - Free Mini-Course
I can’t believe it’s almost May. But it is and that’s extremely exciting. Why, you ask? Because I’m offering my free mini-course: From Doodles to Dollars.
This fun, super valuable (and free) mini-course starts on May 4. You’ll discover the step by step process for turning a sketch or doodle into a repeating pattern using the magic of Adobe Illustrator. And the possibilities from there are endless. The industry is officially called Surface Pattern Design. And it’s the best kept secret around.
I only offer this program a few times a year. I considered cancelling it because of the crazy times in which we are now living. But then I realized, this is the PERFECT time to offer this course.
Here’s all the stuff you get but keep reading because it’s actually about a lot more than just the “stuff”.
#1 Recorded Videos
You’ll receive four video trainings. They are delivered via email so you’ll want to make sure you’re opening my emails and that they are not ending up in your spam folder. Move them into your primary email box so you don’t miss anything.
Each video walks you through a key step in the process. They build on each other. Online learning is fantastic because you can watch the video once through before doing the work yourself. Or you can watch a segment, do the steps outlined with your own sketch, and then start from where you left off.
#2 Downloadable Written Instructions
Everyone learns differently so in addition to the videos, you’ll also received detailed, step by step instructions that cover the same material but in written form. These are super helpful! Print them out and follow along. Take notes. Write all over them or highlight specific steps that you want to remember.

#3 A Private Community
When you enroll, you’ll be invited to join Anne’s Art Club, my private creative community on Facebook. This community is encouraging, supportive and incredibly engaged. #4 Homework Assignments
What? Homework you say? Yes. There is a homework assignment that comes with each lesson. You didn’t think you could get off scott free, did you? Homework is super important because you need to take action and complete each step in the process while we’re live together. And I want to see your beautiful designs!
Don’t worry. I walk you through each assignment in detail and how to post your work inside Anne’s Art Club. It’s fantastic to see your work. You are unique and different. I’m always blown away by the diversity and the talent of each and every one of you. Truly!
#5 LIVE Q&As
After each video lesson is delivered, along with the accompanying written guide, I give you a day to do your homework and post it in the FB group. The very next day, while everything is very top of mind, I go LIVE to answer your questions. These LIVE sessions take place inside Anne’s Art Club and you do not want to miss them.
It’s an amazing opportunity for you to engage directly with me. And get the answers you need so that you can move forward to complete each step. These sessions are very interactive. Even if you are shy and don’t ask a question, it’s highly likely that someone else will so I highly encourage you to attend.
Of course there are replays but who wants to watch a replay all by yourself and miss the energy and enthusiasm of the live session? You can set up a watch party and those are kinda cool, I guess.
That’s all the “stuff”.
I mentioned earlier that it’s really about a lot more than that. This is a time when the world is upside down. We don’t know when things will return to “normal” or what the new “normal” might be. Learning a new valuable skill while you are stuck at home is a great investment in your future. Surface pattern design is a huge industry and it needs new designs all the time.
