3 Tips to Avoid the Comparison Trap

Do you often find yourself comparing yourself to others? When you’re looking at Instagram for example. Or when you’re in an online course and you’re looking at what everyone else is posting.

It happens a lot. It’s natural. But it can also be destructive. This week I want to revisit 3 tips for how to work through and past the comparison game. I shared these thoughts back in May but they are worth revisiting again now.

We’re just kicking off week one of The Pattern Design Academy, Class of October 2020. It’s a fantastic group of creative women and we are all eager to get to know each other and dive into this journey.

At the beginning of a program like this, as we all get to know one another, and start to post homework assignments, we can immediately fall into the trap of comparing our work to others. This can be very debilitating and stop us from making progress.

So what can you do about it? Here are 3 ways that help me stop comparing myself to others and focus on my progress instead.

Watch this week’s ANNE TV for all the details.
