Learning Modules:
In the Pattern Design Academy®, you receive eight beautifully crafted modules with videos, workbooks, practice files, and more. You’ve had a taste of my teaching style and the quality of the videos inside From Doodles to Dollars®. We are going to take that even further inside the Pattern Design Academy®. You will receive a complete step-by-step framework showing you how to leverage your work, increase sales, and get you to the next level in your creative business.
The Program is organized into eight very specific modules:
· In Module 1 we start with mastering Adobe Illustrator. I opened the program for the first time when I was 58. If I can do it, so can you!
· In Module 2 we step away from the computer to focus on gathering inspiration, picking themes and developing an efficient workflow. We will also build a mood board together.
· In Module 3 we dive into motifs in more detail. You will learn to draw inside Adobe Illustrator, something not covered in Doodles®.
· Module 4 is all about pattern design fundamentals, including what makes a good pattern and how to identify and fix some of the most common mistakes people make.
· Module 5 covers advanced pattern techniques. This is probably my favorite module in the entire program because we dive into geometrics and patterns with lines and grids. We learn about half drops and more detailed, layered patterns. And I show you how to create your own background textures to add to your patterns.
· Module 6 is all about working in collections. This is important because it shows the breadth of your work.
· In Module 7 and Module 8 we switch gears to dive into the business side of surface design.
