Recurring Revenue - Let's talk about it
This week’s episode is about how to create recurring revenue in your business. Specifically, we’re going to dive into what a creative membership might look like. A membership is something that you might not have considered at all as a way to get your designs out into the world. Let's talk about it! I love to use real examples to bring this to life for you.
One of my students, Mary-Ann Walker LeClair, used to offer in-person workshops - pre Covid. She needed to figure out a different way to continue to earn money from her artwork, so she developed a subscription box which falls into this membership category, and here's how it works.
She picks one of her own designs each month, get products made with that design on them, and curates a box that’s shipped to her members. Inside the box members discover an ever changing set of products - it’s a surprise each month. What a great way for Mary-Ann to earn recurring revenue while creating products with her designs on them that her members love.
She also expanded on this idea by offering occasion boxes for special occasions. Think Mother's Day, Father’s Day, Christmas and other key holidays. This expands her revenue even further with a combination of monthly subscribers and special occasion subscribers.
