I have a question for you. Have you used ChatGPT yet? If not, prepare to be amazed! This week, we're diving deep into how I'm currently utilizing this helpful tool in my creative business. I'm certain you'll be both surprised and delighted with the multitude of ways ChatGPT can ease our lives, particularly when it comes to generating our weekly content.
Let's unpack this marvel together, shall we?
Now, you may be wondering, how am I using ChatGPT? As a surface pattern designer and business owner, I have a lot on my plate. I’m always looking for ways to become more efficient. One thing I've found incredibly helpful is using ChatGPT to help me develop and improve my blog each week.
Yes, you heard that right.
Each week, I come up with my topic and jot down the key points I'd like to cover. Then I hand it over to ChatGPT, and voilà - a finely crafted blog post emerges.
This process doesn't make the blog impersonal, quite the contrary. Based on the prompts that I give it, ChatGPT helps me organize my thoughts and gives me a really good first draft. This makes the process go much faster. It's like having a professional ghostwriter at your fingertips, ready to whip up engaging content that truly speaks to your audience.

Sales and Opt-In Page Copy: It can be a challenge to find the right words for your sales page or opt-in page, but worry not! ChatGPT can assist you in crafting persuasive copy that resonates with your audience.
Presentation Content: Need to prepare for a webinar or workshop? ChatGPT can help create engaging content for your presentation, saving you time and brainpower.
Social Media Posts: Engaging with your audience on social media is crucial in today's digital age. ChatGPT can help you create meaningful and engaging posts that will boost your online presence.
As you embark on this AI-assisted journey, remember: The effectiveness of ChatGPT heavily depends on the quality of your prompts. The more specific and clear you are in your instructions, the better the outcome will be. It’s a classic case of 'what you put in is what you get out'. So don’t be afraid to provide detailed prompts. And, you always want to tweak the output to make sure it sounds like you.
One other key point is: If you are including any facts, or ChatGPT is providing facts in the draft it gives you, always, always, always check to make sure those facts are accurate.
Quick story: I was drafting a blog about my friend and mentor Stu McLaren. I asked ChatGPT to give me a quick paragraph about his background. It came back with accurate info - but it was really out of date! It talked about his business experience from 20 years ago instead of highlighting his current expertise which is helping people create membership sites so that they can gain recurring, dependable income each month.
Used properly, ChatGPT offers numerous benefits that could truly revolutionize your creative business. It's available 24/7, making it a convenient tool for those moments of late-night inspiration. It also helps you maintain a consistent writing style and tone across all your platforms. And, perhaps most importantly, it enables you to devote more of your precious time to what you love the most: creating.
I’ve come to realize that ChatGPT is more than just a tool. It's a creative companion that can understand your vision, speak your language, and help bring your ideas to life. So why not give it a try? It’s not going away and learning how to use will save you time.
